There's a brand new Michael Jackson musical coming to Broadway

Michael Jackson’s estate has announced that a new musical based on his life will run on Broadway in 2020.

The production, co-developed with Columbia Live Stage, is being written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage.

Christopher Wheeldon of the Royal Ballet will handle the choreography and direction, incorporating many iconic moves from Jackson’s music videos and tours.

The musical will feature many of the King of Pop’s greatest hits, including 'Thriller', 'Beat It' and 'Smooth Criminal'.

It remains unclear whether the more controversial, troubled aspects of Jackson’s life will be included in the production, such as his 2005 trial and acquittal over claims of sexual abuse.
