Demi Riquísimo & Manami take a tech-tinged trip into outer space on the new collaborative EP, ‘Sugar Snap’, out via the former’s A Lifetime On The Hips sub-label
Demi Riquísimo and Manami have joined forces on a new vinyl-only EP, ‘Sugar Snap’, out next month. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
Kicking off a sophomore year of releases on his A Lifetime On The Hips sub-label, Riquísimo and Tokyo-born, Bristol-based Manami – one of DJ Mag's Artists To Watch in 2023 – link up for two dopamine-inducing new tracks, accompanied by remixes from Subwax owner Baldo and prolific Italian DJ and producer Matisa.
The EP’s namesake ‘Sugar Snap’ channels the headsy Italo house and disco-inspired sonics that got Riquísimo nominated for 2023’s Breakthrough DJ award, with the addition of colourful toplines and ravey organ stabs courtesy of fellow rising producer, Manami. Following suit, A2 ‘Interstellar’ is a tech-tinged house heater, with journeying arpeggios and a sexy, celestial groove that could send even an experienced raver into orbit.
Over on the flip, both tracks are given the remix treatment. Baldo contorts ‘Sugar Snap’ into a nocturnal slab of neo-trance, while Florence-based Matisa reaches for chuggy organ bass and diva vocal samples on a vintage UKG-influenced rework of ‘Interstellar’. Magic!
