Premiere: Ariel Zetina 'Valenzetina'

Discwoman affiliate Ariel Zetina delivers dreamy, multi-tonal club tracks on new EP, 'Shell'. Listen to the bittersweet vocals and textured ambience on hazy house cut 'Valenzetina' now

Ariel Zetina will release her new EP 'Shell' later this month.

Chicago-based DJ/producer Zetina adds to her catalogue of releases on labels such as Boukan Records, Club Chai and Houston's Majía with a six-track package. Featuring two original productions and four remixes from the likes of Elliot Reed and Emily Glass, 'Shell' will be available on the 22nd August.

The smartbar resident's EP will land on, and launch, new label Head Charge Records, who's motto is "freedom to move". The press release cites that the project is named after the JRPG (Japanese Role-Playing game) defensive magical spell Shell, which lessens magical damage inflicted upon your avatars.

The opener 'Cleanhouse' sees Zetina explore house music from a more experimental perspective, incorporating vocals from fellow Chi-town residents Paula Nacif and Imp Queen. Hazy house trip 'Valenzetina' follows, remaining in the more clear-cut parameters of classic club sounds while layering emotive textures and a dreamy, lovelorn vocal.
