Premiere: Carl Finlow ‘Boolean’

UK electro pioneer Carl Finlow steps up on Craigie Knowes with the masterful ‘Boolean’ EP. The title track is a rich assemblage of immersive melodies and weighty groove…

Carl Finlow has long been a dedicant of UK electro. Emerging with his first release on Warp in 1993, the Liverpool native was a pioneer of the country’s distinct take on the U.S. style.

Since, he has released on labels like SCSI-AV, Trope, Klang, Soma and Craigie Knowes. Now, he’s stepping up once again on Knowes with the ‘Boolean’ EP, set for release this Friday 16th November.

The five-track release is a testament to his masterful production skills and sound design expertise and nowhere is this clearer than on the title track. With rich layers of subtle melody that cast an eye the haunted atmospheres of Boards Of Canada hovering like fog above a dense, weighty groove, it’s the sort of track that will work wonderfully on the dancefloor as well as on headphones. Check it out below.

You’ll be able to get the EP from Craigie Knowes Bandcamp.
