Kasra V will release his ‘Akasa’ EP on Kim Ann Foxman’s Firehouse label this Friday 19th October.
Featuring a collaboration with Dopplereffekt’s Rudolf Klorzeiger and a remix from Mike Servito and Justin Cudmore, ‘Akasa’ not only showcases Kasra V’s distinctive ear and talents as a producer but also the curatorial mind that has always made his fortnightly show on NTS so special.
It’s a suitably diverse EP too, with the five original cuts veering from beatless and arpeggiated ambient hypnotism to breaks-led house beauties with an IDM mindset. If you’ve been enjoying Lone’s ‘Ambivert Tools Volume Four’ you are guaranteed to fall head over heels for this.
‘Otaku’ opens with a filtered jungle beat before swerving into a brittle, glitchy melodic passage worthy of Aphex Twin. Check it out below.
‘Akasa’ is available digitall from Friday 19th October on 12” vinyl and 19th November digitally. Pre-order it here.
