Premiere: L U C Y ‘Attack’

L U C Y will release her second EP on SZNS7N, the label she launched in July, this Wednesday, 18th December.

 

Following the full release of the ‘SZN001’ compilation in November, the new EP, ‘Project Ghost’, marks a slight shift in sound for the 6 Figure Gang mainstay. It begins with ‘Hackney Pigeon’, an eerie piece of break-based club music. But it’s ‘Attack’ that is the pick of the EP, a jungle-infused, and equally Tessela-esque cut built on military-grade chopped breaks and ferocious bass.

 

“This is my last release of the year and I want it to go out with a percussive bang,” L U C Y told DJ Mag speaking about the release. "This whole body of work takes influence from a range of UK club focused sounds with special mention to Tessela, El-B, Massive Attack and Nookie who inspired it not just sonically, but in the track titles too.”
