Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has completed its program by sharing details of its official opening event for 2023, titled Breathe, Walk, Die.

Taking place at Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum on Wednesday, 18th October, the launch event will centre around a three-act theatrical performance that brings to life the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen exhibition.

The overall project is based on a musical tour that upsammy composed for the exhibition under the direction of creative producer Tom Trago, "in which life — from birth to death — is musically reflected through themes such as fear, lust and ambition," a press release said.

There will also be live sounds on the night from percussionist Valentina Magaletti, as well as additional visual interpretations by designer Theun Mosk. Further information can be found via the trailer below.

ADE has also added a final wave of acts to the list of artists who will be performing across various venues in Amsterdam during this year's event, with the likes of Saoirse, Louie Vega, Animistic Beliefs and Ellen Allien among the last confirmed names.

This year's ADE will run from 18th-22nd October. Find more information via its website.

Last month, Charlotte de Witte, Interplanetary Criminal and Carista were among the artists who joined the ADE 2023 roster. It was also revealed that Grandmaster Flash would host a keynote masterclass and Q&A session as part of the conference programme.
