Grandmaster Flash is set to give a keynote speech on hip-hop and DJing at October's Amsterdam Dance Event.

Forming part of the week-long conference programme in Amsterdam, the legendary hip-hop figure's speech will include a Q&A session, and will be part of ADE's Beats programming. It will take place on Saturday, 22nd October.

Tickets for the special event are available via ADE's website. The conference programming will run from 18th-22nd October.

Grandmaster Flash's keynote speech comes amid a flurry of worldwide activity marking 50 years of hip-hop. In August, the Criterion Channel launched a film series celebrating the anniversary, while a vinyl compilation, 'Raised By Rap', celebrated the evolution of the genre across five decades upon its release in July.

In August, Run D.M.C. headlined Hip Hop 50 Live, a gig at New York's Yankee Stadium, which also featured appearances from Snoop Dogg, Lil' Kim, Ice Cube and many others.

Last month, ADE revealed the first part of its speaker programme for this year's conference, while a second wave of artists DJing and playing live across the city's many venues during this year's event were revealed at the start of this month.
