Avicii’s Ultra 2013 performance footage shared online: Watch
The live performance from a decade ago has been released for the first time
Footage of Avicii's performance at Ultra Music Festival in 2013 has been shared online for the first time. Check it out below.
In the video, Avicii invites singer Adura Mae to take the stage, delivering an emotional rendition of the single 'Addicted To You', taken from his landmark record, 'True'. The track went on to become a staple in the producer’s sets. The clip also features the track ‘Dear Boy’ with vocals from MØ, who later collaborated with Major Lazer and DJ Snake on the track ‘Lean On’.
In 2018, Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – died by suicide at the age of 28. Two years prior to that, the superstar DJ and producer announced his retirement from touring, citing a need to pursue “strong interests in different areas” but having “little time to explore them”.
The tragic news was followed by an outpour of tributes across the music world. A year later, his family launched the Tim Bergling Foundation, an organisation that provides support for mental health and other causes close to Avicii’s heart.
In 2021, the Ericsson Globe – the largest indoor arena in Stockholm – was renamed the Avicii Arena. Last year, the Avicii Experience was opened at Space in Stockholm, Avicii’s hometown, and a new wind sculpture was erected in his honour.
Last month, rare footage of the Swedish producer’s last-ever performance was shared on his official YouTube account. The clip shows the EDM star performing ‘Addicted To You’ from his 2016 in Ushuaïa, Ibiza.
