Avicii’s ‘Heaven’ gets an official video: Watch

A beautiful tribute to the producer, filmed in Madagascar...

The video for Avicii's 'Heaven' is out today.

'Heaven' was originally recorded with Chris Martin in 2014, with the late Avicii, real name Tim Bergling completing the final version of the track in 2016.

Directed by filmmaker Levan Tsikurishvili, who also directed the 'Avicii: True Stories' documentary, the 'Heaven' video is a vibrant and paradisiacal tribute to the producer and DJ who tragically died in April 2018. Tsikurishvili and Bergling spent time together on the Ile Sainte-Marie, Madagascar, where the footage was captured. There are previously unseen snippets from 'True Stories, as well new footage, and material taken from Tsikurishvili's smartphone.

In a statement about the video, Tsikurishvili wrote:

"I have been working with Tim since about 2013. During these years, we made 8 music videos, 3 concert movies and 2 documentaries together. In 2016, right after his last show, Tim, Tim's childhood friend Awat, and I spent 19 beautiful days in Madagascar, Ile Sainte-Marie. We spoke about everything, laughed, played monopoly, hung out with lemurs, and explored the entire island together. Now, two-and-a-half years later, I returned to the island to remember Tim, to honour his legacy, and to recreate the memories that will stay with us forever."
