Campaign launched for creation of disco ball emoji

“A simple, but vital addition to the emoji keyboard”

Glitterbox have started a Change.org petition to encourage the creation of a disco ball emoji.

Asking that the emoji be introduced in the next iOS & Android, the beloved house and disco brand has described the disco ball as “a simple, but vital addition to the emoji keyboard”.

“There is a party popper, a confetti ball and a balloon emoji, but no disco ball,” they write on the petition’s homepage. “The centrepiece of any great party, this is one of the most-loved objects for all dancefloor lovers. Every Friday and Saturday night, there are millions of people around the world crying out for this emoji, the only emoji worthy of kickstarting their weekend.”

Truly, an honourable cause.

So far, over 900 people have signed the petition (which has a target of 1000). Couldn’t hurt to sign, could it?

While you are in the signing/donating mood though, your attention could be better focussed on the recently launched GoFundMe launched in aid of Hyperdub affiliate Cooly G. A fire at a self-storage unit in London late last year destroyed most of her and her family's possessions. Currently, almost £6000 of their £10,000 target has been raised.
