Charlotte de Witte is The World's No. 1 Techno DJ in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll 2023.

Taking home the award for the second year in a row, as well as placing at No.18 in this year’s poll, Belgian maestro Charlotte de Witte has continued to champion her driving techno sound across the globe in 2023. From the main stage at Tomorrowland, Detroit’s Movement, and appearances with Ultra’s Resistance crew, to a North America tour, de Witte has been unstoppable on the club and festival circuit. She also made multiple appearances in Ibiza this year, joining Joseph Capriati for his Metamorfosi party at Amnesia, as well as the Pyramid crew. While serving up her darker style of warped, acid-tinged electronics and warehouse-shaking techno in the club, she’s also found time to be in the studio this year.

Teaming up with her partner in life and in the booth, Enrico Sangiuliano, she released the collaborative ‘Reflections’ EP, followed by her highly-anticipated ‘Overdrive’ EP — two "high-energy tracks meant to pull listeners into the fast-paced thrill that unlocks one's turbocharged version of themselves" — and celebrated the release with a week-long pop-up event in New York City. Her KNTXT imprint and techno concept has been rolling along nicely in the background, too, with releases from Alignment, ONYVAA and Amazingblaze, with the brand also seeing its KNTXT 2023 festival, as well as various takeovers across the continents. de Witte has firmly positioned herself as one of the best in techno, with no signs of slowing down.

The awards were announced during a broadcast event, hosted by BBC Radio One’s Arielle Free from The Standard, Ibiza. The show featured an iconic David Guetta performance from an Ibiza cliff top, alongside sets from four leading DJs from unique locations that spanned five continents.

The awards show and full sets are available to watch now on DJ Mag’s YouTube channel. Chinese viewers can also enjoy the show on NetEase Cloud Music, the exclusive Top 100 DJs results partner for the China market.

1.3 million votes were counted from 237 countries in this year’s Top 100 DJs poll. You can see the full Top 100 DJs list here.
