DIPLO TO BE PLAYED BY JAMES VAN DER BEEK IN NEW VICELAND SPOOF DOCUMENTARY SERIES

Diplo will be played by ex-Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek in a new spoof documentary about the DJ's life, Pitchfork reports. 

Titled What Would Diplo Do (or WWDD for short), the series will air on Viceland with Spike Jonze in the director's seat, with Van Der Beek and Diplo on executive producer duties. 

The idea for the new series spawned from a previously-released viral video featuring Van Der Beek as Diplo — the clip was commissioned to promote Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party events.

The series will debut later this year via Viceland.
