Diplo is set to start in the new Pokémon movie, which also features Ryan Reynolds, Ken Watanabe, Kathryn Newton and Justice Smith.
News hit this week as the latest trailer for the live-action film, 'POKÉMON: Detective Pikachu', appeared online, and the producer gave comment via Twitter.
"Playing myself in the Pokémon detective movie is the first time my kids have ever thought i’m cool," Diplo, who announced a new EP last month, said on the social network.
Those who want to see it for themselves can check the trailer below— the man in question appears at 1:16 soundtracking a battle between Pokémon fan favourite Blastoise and some characters those who know the franchise well may or may not recognise. The movie is slated for release on 10th May 2019. The rather unexpected revelation follows hot on the heels of the less surprising win for Silk City at the 61st Grammy Awards— Diplo's musical project alongside fellow superstar Mark Ronson.
