Sony CSL Research Laboratory has shared the first ever pop song written by an artificial intelligence.
The software, known as Flow Machines, uses information from a vast database of sheet music, along with a style prompt (in this case The Beatles) from a human composer, to create a harmony and melody.
French composer Benoît Carré, then produced, mixed and wrote lyrics for the track, which is titled 'Daddy's Car'.
The song is expected to be released next year as part of a fully AI-composed album, in the meantime you can stream 'Daddy's Car' below.
