Gil Scott-Heron graphic novel to be released this year
The book by documentarian Thomas Maucéri is to be published in English for the first time
A new graphic novel about the life and work of the late Gil Scott-Heron is to be published in English for the first time this July.
Written by documentarian Thomas Maucéri and illustrated by Sébastian Piquet, 'In Search Of Gil Scott-Heron' frames writing about the artist's career within the premise of Maucéri attempting to track him down for an interview – it ultimately never happens.
In addition to looking at his music, it focuses on his political and social influence, and delves into key events that happened across his life.
The book was originally published in French in May 2022, and the English language version is now set to be published on 26th July via Titan Comics. It will feature a bonus essay celebrating Scott-Heron's career and musical influence.
