Glastonbury’s Block9 to double in size as part of “radical” festival overhaul for 2019

"A very, very exciting new project" is also in the pipeline...

Glastonbury's designated clubbing hub, Block9, will be "double in size" next summer.

Set to be revealed as part of the festival's return to Worthy Farm across June 26th-30th next year, the expansion of the party HQ - which is home to legendary venues NYC Downlow, Genosys and London Underground - is part of a "radical" overhaul by festival organiser, Emily Eavis.

Co-founders Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher revealed the news to Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6Music. "This year, we’re about to double in size," they said. "We’ve taken over another field so Block9 is expanding and we have a very, very exciting new project that we’ve been working on for the last four years and it’s going to happen in June this year.”

Here's 25 photos from last year's Glastonbury that prove Block9 is the world's wildest clubbing space.
