The Loop announces online harm reduction course relating to drug use at music festivals this week

The charity hopes that people involved in the music and event industry will take up the course

The Loop announce online harm reduction course relating to drug use at music festivals this week

Drug testing and harm reduction organisation The Loop is putting on an online training course about current drug use at music festivals and events later this week.

Taking place this Friday, 7th June, the course, dubbed 'Responding to Drug Use at Music Festivals and Outdoor Events', is especially aimed at people who work in the music and events industry, while others who are interested in drug harm reduction can also take part.

This will be the last time to take part in such a training course until September when the summer festival season comes to a close, The Loop says. It will be run by professionals in the field of drug use and harm reduction who have "years of understanding and experience".

The course, which first launched in February of this year, will cover current drug trends in the UK, problems associated with different drugs, drug legislation in the UK, emergency treatment, and information on how incidents can be recorded and reported.

Tickets for The Loop's 'Responding to Drug Use at Music Festivals and Outdoor Events' course are available here.

The Loop was recently given the go ahead by the UK Home Office to continue with its work testing drugs at festivals in the UK, and shared a tweet confirming the news, reading: "We are resuming our festival drug testing services again this summer, having obtained the first Home Office licence ever issued for onsite festival testing! This is a huge endorsement for The Loop's work."
