A Mary J. Blige documentary is being produced by Amazon Studios. It is due for release this Friday 6th December.

A documentary about the legendary R&B singer, songwriter, and actress, will be executive produced by Blige and Sean Combs, AKA rapper Diddy, and will follow the artist as she gears up to perform her 1994 album 'My Life' on a 25th anniversary tour.

Currently untitled, the documentary will also explore Blige's personal life and experiences throughout her career, with the press release stating the project will be "into the emotional journey of Mary J. Blige’s past struggles with poverty, abuse, addiction and heartbreak.”

This week virtual UK band Gorillaz released the trailer for their documentary, 'Reject False Icons'

Earlier this year, the documentary about Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men, was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program category.

In August, FX announced a new Tupac documentary, Outlaw: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur, was in production.
