New 250-capacity club, The Dance, opens in New York

It's being opened by the owner behind other NY venues such as Elvis Guesthouse and Baby's All Right

New York has a new club called The Dance.

Situated on Lafayette Street in lower Manhattan, the multi-room club comes complete with a 250-capacity main space, and has been opened by Billy Jones, the man behind other New York venues such as Elvis Guesthouse and Baby's All Right.

The Dance officially opened last week, with programming so far covering club events as well as New York Fashion Week parties. A number of modern dancehall figures such as Kelman Duran and Felix Hall played at the venue for one of its first parties.

Details of further events at the club are yet to be announced. You can find out more about The Dance, and follow its progress, via Instagram.

LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy recently opened a new cafe in Brooklyn called Daymoves, which he also intends to later run as a nighttime venue.
