NYC Nightlife United launch COVID-19 relief fund for clubs, venues and staff

The fund has been launched by AdHoc Presents and Friends And Lovers

Figures in New York City nightlife have banded together to launch an emergency fund for clubs, venues and employees affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

NYC Nightlife United has been launched by Brooklyn bar Friends and Lovers and event promoter and publication AdHoc, and aims to provide “immediate relief to shuttered cultural spaces affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The fund has been launched in collaboration with performing arts non-profit organisation Solo Foundation, and will prioritise small, independent venues and artists who have lost income through cancelled gigs.

“Businesses in live music need immediate aid and face challenges unique to our industry, but there were no relief programs made just for us,” AdHoc Presents owner Ric Leichtung shared in a statement. “We’re fiercely independent people who tap into our community to make the changes we want to see happen. When there’s no road paved for us, we make the concrete.”
