Nyege Nyege Festival announces full line-up for 2019 festival

Slikback, Duke & MCZO, Josey Rebelle and many more will play the Ugandan festival in September

Ugandan arts collective and record label Nyege Nyege has shared the full line-up for the 5th edition of its festival.

Set to take place at Nile Discovery Beach in Jinja, Uganda, Nyege Nyege festival will run from the 5th to the 8th September and feature 300 performers from over 30 countries.

Among the acts to perform are Kenyan electronic DJ and producer Slikback, who has released on Nyege Nyege’s Hakuna Kulala label and will also perform at this year’s Sónar and Dekmantel festivals. Label affiliates Duke & MCZO will also perform at the festival, alongside Sisso and Jay Mitta.

Rinse FM’s Josey Rebelle will also head to Nyege Nyege this year, joined by footwork purveyor, EQ Why, Discwoman's Shyboi and Detroit techno legend, Juan Atkins. 

There will also be music from Dutch Nyege Nyege resident DJ Marcelle, Shanghai’s 33EMYBW, who makes her European debut at Manchester’s The Warehouse Project opening party in September, joined by Genome 666 affiliates Gooooose and Hyph11e.
