PACHA NYC IS CLOSING

After a decade it’s going out with a bang...

The legendary club has just announced that it’ll be closing its doors for good in early 2016. The venue, which has previously been voted as one of the Top 100 clubs in the DJ Mag poll, has been going for ten years.

Pacha NY president Eddie Dean said: “The average nightclub lasts 18 months – we lasted 120. It’s been a wild ride that none of us will ever forget. Our final parties will celebrate the different artists, styles, and scenes that have made Pacha great.”

The club has issued some stats to go along with the news: 6 million fans have graced Pacha’s dancefloor for over 12,000 hours.

“We’ve had many marriages, quite a few divorces, and at least 522 babies conceived”, Pacha’s news post reads. “Fans have burned close to 10 billion calories over ten years, while our barbacks have ran nearly 10 thousand miles (burning a million calories), carrying over 2 million bottles of alcohol (enough to fill 2 Olympic sized swimming pools!),” Dean said.

They’re throwing a month-long celebration in December titled the Ten-Year Anniversary which will see the likes of founding resident DJ Erick Morillo, Puff Daddy, Carnage, Dirty South and Markus Schulz, culminating in a marathon classics set with 46th Street staple, Jonathan Peters.

They’re capping the club’s run with a series of closing parties in January 2016, featuring a “who’s who of dance music from past to present”.
