Skrillex: ‘I never said I was making an album’
He says he will release new music soon though...
2018 was a relatively quiet year for Skrillex which saw him continue to play shows but hold back from releasing much new material.
He's now dashed hopes of a more extended project coming sometime soon by telling Billboard that he doesn't have a new album on the way. “You know, people have been asking me about when I have a new album coming out, and it’s a little strange, because I never said I was making an album," he said.
He continues: “I’ll release some new music soon, but I’m just trying to do it organically. At the same time, I still love to make music, and I’m obviously working."
He has kept up a busy studio schedule over the last year, teasing new material including something new from Dog Blood, his collaborative project with Boys Noize. He was also filmed playing unreleased material on New Year's Eve at Vancouver's Contact Festival.
Skrillex's most recent project has seen work on the theme song for new game Kingdom Hearts III.
