Skrillex says he’s working on “bangers” that will “come out really soon”

"I have a story I'm telling towards the end of this year, into next year"

Skrillex has teased details about new music in a new interview with 12th Planet.

The interview aired over the weekend as part of 12th Planet's Swamplex Radio show on Insomniac Radio — the show was celebrating its one-year anniversary. The pair chatted over the phone for five minutes, but Skrillex used the time to reveal a fair amount about his upcoming plans to release new material later this year despite saying that he didn't "like to talk about what [he's] doing too much".

He told 12th Planet that he's "just having some fun" in the studio and added that he's "working on some bangers right now that will come out really soon".

He also hinted at plans for a story-driven series of releases coming later this year. "I have other stuff that I'm preparing," he said. "I have a story I'm telling towards the end of this year, into next year.

"I don't want to say too much, but it's going to become more of a story as things roll out," he added, before saying that it "feels like a Tarantino movie".

Over the weekend, a new track by Skrillex, Boys Noize and Ty Dolla $ign was accidentally leaked online via Beatport. The official release of the track, which is titled 'Midnight Hour' and is the follow-up to previous collaboration 'Malokera', will be fully released later this week.

Last month, it was revealed that the OWSLA boss had a hand in producing the new album from country band Zac Brown Band.
