There’s a 20-hour desert rave in Spain next summer

Monegros Desert Festival returns for the first, and final, time since 2014.

Monegros Desert Festival returns to the Spanish desert on Saturday August 1 2020 for the first time since 2014.

The festival makes an explosive return after their 2015 edition, under a different guise of Groove Parade, was cancelled. At the beginning of May 2015, two months before Groove Parade took place, the event was pulled as a result of a legal disagreement surrounding the use of part of land used for the site.

The return of Monegros Desert Festival will see the festival welcome over 45,000 ravers to a sprawling sand dance floor. Accustomed to delivering gargantuan lineups to the desert, previous editions of Monegros have welcomed the likes of Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Andy C, Laurent Garnier, Ricardo Villalobos and Loco Dice.

Built on an ethose of R.A.V.E (Radical, Audio, Visual, Experience), the 2020 edition of Monegros Desert Festival promises a final blowout, the "dazzling last dance"; a tribute to the 80s and 90s rave scene. Expect jaw-dropping surroundings, mindblowing production, and a rave that will go on for 20 hours.

On the return of Monegros, the festival say:

"We are not back to do the same, we want to produce the biggest festival of our history after 20 years."
