Tzusing will release his new album, ‘绿帽 Green Hat’, on 31st March via PAN. You can hear the first track, '孝忍狠 (Filial Endure Ruthless)', below.

The record is the second LP from the Malaysia-born, Shanghai and Taipei-based experimental techno and EBM. Marking his debut LP for the Bill Kouligas-run label, which previously put out Tzusing's joint effort with M.E.S.H., 'Split', back in 2019. Cover imagery has been created by photographer Xiaopeng and artist Virgile Flores.

According to the album's press materials, ‘绿帽 Green Hat’ "meditates on China's complicated history of patriarchal heteronormativity, and how these archaic double standards continue to dominate the culture in pervasive, often invisible ways. Even in progressive circles, internalized male inadequacy and its inevitable projection of possessiveness and aggression has been brushed underneath the rug, so by addressing it head-on, Tzusing attempts to question these structures using a level of aesthetic anxiety and thematic intensity that's hard to ignore."

To mark the new album's arrival, Tsuzing — who launched his own imprint, Sea Cucumber, in 2021 — will embark on a European tour, kicking off with a show at Berlin's CTM Festival tomorrow, Friday 3rd February. He then heads to Corsica Studios, London, on Saturday 4th February.

Dates over the coming months include some of the continent's most respected electronic festivals, including Waking Life in Portugal, French institution Nuits Sonores, The Hague's Rewire, and Dekmantel in Amsterdam. A full list of dates is beneath the embed.

Last year, Tzusing provided the score for an Adidas advert promoting a Valentine's Day collection from Beyoncé's Ivy Park collaborative range.
