VINYL SALES CONTINUE TO EXCEED DIGITAL DOWNLOADS

The vinyl renaissance picks up speed...

Vinyl album sales overtook digital downloads last week, according to data from the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).

Now, for the second week running, vinyl sales have continued to dominate digital sales.

Stats showed that last week, buyers spent £2.4million on vinyl against £2.1million on digital downloads. This week, vinyl sales have gone up to £2.9million, with digital sales staying the same, at £2.1million.

Christmas looks to see a further increase in vinyl sales, with a number of releases including 'Vol. 1' of the stunning Stranger Things soundtrack and Chemical Brothers' entire catalog of eight studio albums landing in time for the festive period.
