A woman who went into labour at EDC Las Vegas last week (Sunday 21st May), has launched a GoFundMe to cover the medical bills. The new mother, Cristina Celis from California, later gave birth in a Las Vegas hospital and won’t be able to return home for four to six weeks while her newborn daughter, Izzabella, is receiving care.

“Any money raised will help us cover her Medical bills and anything else she may need until we can get home,” Celis has written in the online petition. “Thank you to everyone who has showed support as well as the Rave Community.” The goal of the campaign is $10,000 and it has raised over $600 at the time of writing.

Celis went into labour during Zedd’s mainstage set at the 2023 edition of North America’s largest electronic dance music festival, despite being weeks from her due date. After speaking with medical staff at the rave, she was transferred to University Medical Center in an ambulance early on Sunday morning, and gave birth to her healthy daughter shortly after.

The heartwarming story caught the attention of Zedd, who congratulated Celis and her partner, Jonny Garcia, on social media. “I heard someone gave birth at the stage DURING MY SHOW,” Zedd tweeted on Tuesday 22nd May, with the mind-blown emoji. “Can someone pls help me find the person? I’d like to reach out!”

Celis and her boyfriend decided to name her Izzabella Daisy Garcia, telling KATV/ABC, “we added the extra “Z” in honor for Zedd because that's technically where she went into labor. We put Daisy for the Electric Daisy Carnival, so that’s why we put Daisy as her middle name.”
