Grants worth up to £2,500 are once again up for grabs

Youth Music announces eighth round of NextGen Fund for aspiring creatives

Youth Music has announced the latest round of the Youth Music NextGen Fund.

Launched in 2021 with the help of Butterz co-founder and DJ Elijah, the fund is an initiative designed to help young musicians during the early stages of their career in the music industry. With grants of up to £2,500 available, it aims to break down financial barriers that stop many from being able to break into the industry.

Applications for round eight of the fund – which is open to creatives aged 18-25, as well as disabled people up to the age of 30 – open here on Friday 15th December and will close on Friday 19th January 2024. Funding is only available to musicians and other music-based creatives that are based in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales.

This round also marks the start of a new partnership for Youth Music with PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited), the UK music licensing organisation for performers and recording rightsholders. Youth Music NextGen Fund is also supported by Dr Martens Foundation and players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The fund has invested over £485,000 directly to emerging creatives to date, helping 206 early-stage musicians and emerging music industry creatives to launch a project, idea or business.
