YouTube reveals UK's most viewed music videos of 2022

YouTube has revealed the UK's most-watched music videos for this year.

The visual for Dave's 2022 single 'Starlight' leads the figures, having picked up almost 38 million views since it dropped back in March, while the French The Kid, MIST and Bugzy Malone remix of Bad Boy Chiller Crew's 'BMW' takes the second spot with 19 million worldwide streams so far.

The top five is rounded out by Harry Styles' 'As It Was', Burna Boy's 'Last Last', and Aitch and Ashanti's 'Baby', respectively.

Sharing the figures, YouTube noted that for the first time in 12 years, the top 10 features eight homegrown UK artists. Drill and rap dominates the list with Dave, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Aitch, Digga D, ArrDee and more all making appearances.

Finally, the video platform said that collaborations between different acts were helping to "drive consumption" of videos, and noted a wider "geographical spread” of artists than in previous years, representing "the devolution of talent".
