Zeds Dead and Hamdi link up on new single, ‘Criminal’: Listen

Zeds Dead and Hamdi have joined forces on a new single, ‘Criminal’ (ft. Warrior Queen)’. Listen to the track below.

Released today (5th July) via Zeds Dead’s label, Deadbeats, the single combines the Canadian duo’s bass-driven production style with Hamdi’s blend of dubstep, UKG, and grime. ‘Criminal’ also features vocals from Jamaican dancehall and dub artist, Warrior Queen.

Speaking on the link-up, Hamdi said: “We started sending over stems and had a really good basis for the track initially. I was in Toronto for a show then, so me and Dylan jumped in the studio for a day to develop the track and had such a great session. It was an amazing experience to work together in person, and everything just flowed really nicely.”

The single follows on the heels of Hamdi’s single, ‘Counting’, which dropped at the end of May, as well as his ‘Selecta’ EP, released via Belgium’s Duploc imprint. Also in May, Zeds Dead returned to their Altered States record label with a brand new collaborative single, ‘Aftertaste’, featuring fellow Canadians HNTR and AIDN.

Hamdi – whose track 'Skanka' was one of DJ Mag top tracks of 2022 – is hitting the road for the second leg of his US tour and playing in select cities in July, as well as linking up with Zeds Dead as support on their Carolina Open Air weekend extravaganza in October. He also made his debut at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre this week for the 9th annual Dead Rocks event.
