After the three reported deaths following HARD Summer 2016 last month (July), the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors are reportedly revisiting the notion of a ban on electronic music festivals at the county-owned San Manuel Ampitheater, where Nocturnal Wonderland and Beyond Wonderland take place.
Supervisor Janice Rutherford made the original proposal in June. When those plans were shelved, she said, “I obviously don’t think the county should have these events at a county-owned facility anymore. But I can’t bring it up for reconsideration. One of my colleagues will have to bring it up for consideration.”
Now, San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors chairman James Ramos is said to have brought up the previously dismissed proposal. He has recommended it be brought back up for discussion following San Manuel Ampitheater’s Nocturnal Wonderland, which is due to take place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September.
The three deaths following HARD Summer this year came after the news that two women died of suspected overdoses that had attended the Californian festival in 2015.
