Akai announce version 2 of iMPC Pro for iOS

The second version of the popular iOS app adds support for Audio Units...

Akai have announced a major update to their popular iOS app iMPC Pro. The main new addition in version 2 is the ability to use Audio Units, Apple’s own virtual instrument format. This means any iOS app that support AU can be used as a ‘plugin’ within iMPC, creating something similar to a DAW environment.

The app also supports audio recording via the built-in mic, external soundcards or any other supported device, as well as real-time time stretching, pitch shifting and manipulation of audio. There’s a 64-track mixer with EQ and FX per channel and the ability to sample directly from audio apps like Spotify. New sound sets come from the likes of Sample Magic and Cr2 and the app is available now for $24.99.

If you're looking for some AUs to fill up your iMPC's channels, why not try Korg's new iMono/Poly app or for a whole other alternative why not try Apple's newly updated Garageband for iOS
