Premiere: C.A.R. ‘Daughters (Bawrut Remix)’

Chloé Raunet AKA C.A.R’s ‘PINNED’ LP on Ransom Note was an immersive new wave venture – Madrid-based house agitator Bawrut delivers a thrilling dancefloor rework of ‘Daughters’ on new remix EP...

In February this year we had our minds suitably blown by Chloé Raunet AKA C.A.R.’s stellar sophomore LP, ‘PINNED’. Released on Ransom Note Records, the album combed new wave, synth pop and post punk sensibilities with an avant-garde spirit, garnering a whopping 8.5/10 in our February issue’s album round-up.

Now, the label is set to drop not one but two remix compilations of the album. The first, ‘PINNED Up’, lands this Friday 4th May and features reworks from a fierce selection of producers including Michael Mayer, Marcus Worgull and Man Power to name just a few.

Madrid-based, Italian born DJ/producer Bawrut has served up a particularly strong edit of the Laurie Anderson-reminiscent ‘Daughters’ – premiering below – taking the frosty, celestial vocals of the original and bringing it into a dancefloor context with rattling organic percussion, guttural bass and wiry electronics.
