Don't Be Afraid is marking its tenth anniversary with two compilations.
The first collection, '10.01', is due out on the Bristol-based label later in November, with new tracks by roster artists such as rRoxymore, Karen Gwyer, MGUN, Brassfoot and Mr. Beatnick all featured. Only one of the 11 acts appearing on the compilation, Lurka, is new to the label, though producer Kamau (FKA Darling Farah) also makes her first appearance under a new name. No information has yet been revealed about the second compilation.
Ikonika has a new EP on the way.
Titled 'Bodies', the four-track release is set to drop via Don't Be Afraid, the label through which she also released 2017's 'Oral Suspension'.
In a statement shared alongside the EP's announcement, Ikonika says: "What do you do when the body has been through trauma? What do you do with a new body? How do you drive it?
rRoxymore is set to release her debut album next month.
Following her 'Organ Smith' EP, and the two-part 'Thoughts Of An Introvert' releases on Semtek's Don't Be Afraid label, 'Face to Phase' will be released on the 27th September.
TR One’s music has that rare and lovely quality of feeling heavy and light at the same time. Over a selection of releases on labels like Apartment Records, Lunar Disko, Don’t Be Afraid and, most recently, Solar Phenomena, the Irish DJ/producer – real name Eddie Reynolds – has consistently showcased an ability to weave elegant, velvety melodies and bass grooves through tough beats.
