Spotify has announced personalised playlists for pets following consultations with "experts in the industry".
The company has created a playlist generator specifically designed for owners of iguanas, birds, hamsters, dogs and cats. Simply click on the appropriate animal, give some details about their personality and provide their name.
Streaming accounted for 80% of recording revenues in the U.S. in 2019, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reports.
In a Tweet posted by the RIAA at the end of 2019, the assocation shared a detailed breakdown of the recording revenues at the start of the decade, and comparing them to figures collected at the end of last year.

During November, Nielsen Music reported that combined audio and visual streaming had surpassed 1 trillion for the first time ever in a calendar year. In the same period in 2018, week commencing the 21st November, there were 765.2 billion audio and video on-demand streams.
The entire number of streams reported in 2018 was 901 billion, which shows 31% growth year-over-year through to 2019.
