The weekend just gone saw DJ Mag celebrate its 20th anniversary of the Tech Awards at BPM | PRO Music technology convention at Birmingham’s NEC Genting Arena. Live streamed around the globe we were joined by a team of talented judges Doorly, Dr Meaker, Emika, Correy James and yours truly Mick Wilson (DJ Mag Tech Editor) to preside over the testing and judging process, a very difficult procedure for sure.
Six categories were contested over the two days and the winners were announced at the show. In a break from the norm the usual suspects didn’t run away with it and there were a few surprising results, which in our opinion is a good thing as it shows that the kit that is out there for DJs to use is of a high standard - from the entry level right up to Pro use!
We are sure that some will agree and some will disagree with what won each category but as mentioned it was a tough process as all the gear featured deserve recognition in their own rights for being at the forefront of DJ and production technology.
See the results below for the Live Streamed event and don’t forget voting is still open for the remaining nine categories in our 2016 DJ Mag Tech Awards, and this is where you get to be the judges. Voting closes end of September and the full results will be announced in our November edition of the magazine.
