Revivis will release a new four-track EP, ‘Dance State’, this Friday. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.

Following up his debut EP, ‘Trip to Luzon’, unveiled last summer, the London-raised, Berlin-based producer expands his electronic palette with four deep, dancefloor workouts. Maintaining the sense of melody and subtlety that made that first release so striking, Revivis sets his sights more firmly on the dancefloor here, infusing its threads of '90s house and early acid-laced trance with lashings of tunnelling prog-techno NRG.

Inspired by the busy late-night soundscapes of Berlin’s Neukölln district, opener ‘All Over’ conjures its feathery pads and snappy drums into a lithe techno trip, before title cut ‘Dance State’ ramps up the intensity for a more psychedelic and proggy techno hybrid.

On the flip, the busy acid modulations of ‘Queen Of Chaos’ are compounded with bouncy kick drums and springy basslines for a proper hands-in-the-air affair, while B2 ‘Sophia’ – named after the Hanson Robotics AI entity it samples – wrestles mischievously with questions of AI and musical autonomy.

‘Dance State’ lands this Friday (24th January) via the producer’s own Santo Tomas imprint. Launched last year and named in honour of his Filipino roots, it’s fast becoming a platform for the producer to nurture his deep yet increasingly progressive sound.
