Apple launches new high-end music-making computer

The Mac Studio will replace Apple’s flagship Mac Pro

Apple Mac Studio

Apple has announced a new super-powerful computer aimed at creative professionals. With a similar aesthetic to the Mac Mini, the new Mac Studio is powered by the existing M1 Max chip and the brand new M1 Ultra, which Apple says is 3.8-times faster than a 10-core i9 chip, and 90% faster than the existing 16-core Mac Pro.

The Ultra is the latest in the M1 line, following the original M1, M1 Pro and M1 Max, and supports 128GB of RAM, has 20-cores of CPU, a 64-core GPU and a 32-core neural engine for AI processing. According to Apple, it’s ‘nearly’ eight times faster than the original M1.

Round back, after many years of being missing, the Mac Studio features USB A ports, which will delight many electronic music makers. It also includes four USB-C ports, an Ethernet port, HDMI port and a headphone output. It also supports up to 8TB of HDD space, for even the biggest of projects.

The Mac Studio starts at $1,999 and is available now. Visit the Apple website for more information.
