Reclusive eccentric Warp Records artist scoops best album award

Aphex Twin, the reclusive electronic artist, won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album last night.

The Cornwall-born DJ/producer pipped Deadmau5 and Royksopp/Robyn to the award — but of course was not present to pick up the trophy.

Aphex’s ‘Syro’ album was his first for 13 years.

Aphex scooped the Best British Album award at DJ Mag’s Best Of British Awards at the end of 2014. As a natural precursor to the Grammys he came to pick that one up… no, of course he didn’t — the eccentric genius hasn’t been seen in public for years.
