Sheffield's Scott 'thatmanmonkz' Moncrieff cut his studio chops living with Ross Orton, producer of Arctic Monkeys and M.I.A, before going on to form Small Arms Fiya with Radio 1 mainstay Toddla T. Remixing the likes of Nubian Minds, Roots Manuva and Mark Rae, 'monkz has since branched out alone, gaining plenty of support.
His second EP for Tone Control Music drops soon, a blend of soulful boogie and Afro and UK house, and having played alongside the likes of Carl Craig, Grandmaster Flash, Phil Asher and Recloose, and guested on stations like Rinse FM, he dropped up this solid selection of percussive bruk house gems, including tracks from Osunlade, Ossie and Afefe Iku.
