Laurent Garnier will release a new remix album, ‘33T.E.P.S.V. Remixes’, later this month. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Le Swing Du Pouleto (Avision Remix)’ below.

Following the release of his first solo record in eight years, French techno titan Laurent Garnier has commissioned a suite of reworks of his ‘33 Tours Et Puis S’en Vont’ LP. Arriving 29th September via Garnier and Stephane’s (aka Scan X) COD 3 QR imprint, the project features ten strobing edits from across the techno continuum, with six coming on wax and four as exclusive digital bonuses.

Works Of Intent (fka R.O.S.H.) opens up with his Farewell remix of ‘Reviens La Nuit’, replete with a galloping techno beat and eerie modulations, while Parisian producer and COD 3 QR regular Voltaire wraps the spectral house of ‘Tales from the Real World’ in a blanket of dense, cascading arps.

Elsewhere, Frenchman 22Carbone, who featured on Garnier’s original LP, returns with a raging, broken beat edit of ‘In Your Phase’, and Avision targets early morning dancefloors with his take on the babbling low-end of ‘Le Swing Du Pouletto’, and taut synths of Garnier’s ‘Liebe Grüße aus Cucuron’. Rocco Rodamaal, Reshit, and Liminanas also serve up stellar edits across the project.

Since its founding in 2017, COD 3 QR’s “if it’s good, it’s good” mantra has seen the label become a thriving mecca of adventurous club oddities and colourful compilations. Garnier’s eighth record and incoming remix package join a series of V/A’s featuring the wonky sounds of Alex Medina, Marco BaileyMadben, and many more.

At the time of announcing his latest LP, Garnier also revealed that he will step back from regular touring. In a statement, the 57-year-old DJ said: “The global situation made me reassess what’s important and helped me face up to some truths: becoming a dusty, old jukebox has never been an option, and so as my “swinging” sixties draw nearer, the time has come for me to consider my life as a touring DJ differently.”

“But that doesn’t mean abandoning the decks for good,” he continued. “And so, after the next few months, which I’m hoping will be full of excitement around the release of this album, the end of 2024 will mark an important turning point in my career where you won't see me playing the same weekend in three different cities anymore.”

‘33T.E.P.S.V. Remixes’ is out 29th September via COD 3 QR. Pre-order the album via Bandcamp here, and listen exclusively to ‘Le Swing Du Pouleto (Avision Remix)’ below.
