Premiere: Siu Mata ‘Rodinia’
Nervous Horizon rounds off a prolific year with a slamming six-tracker from Parisian percussive club maestro Siu Mata

This Parisian producer’s full-pelt edits and originals have made a serious splash in the percussive club pool over the past couple of years. Alongside fellow WAJANG label boss Amor Satyr, his drum-focused fusions of styles – from juke, electro and baile funk to d&b, dubstep and “speed dembow” – are fine-tuned for maximum dancefloor impact: proper limb-swinging, lose-your-marbles material.
This aptly-placed six-track debut for East London’s Nervous Horizon label is no different. Razor sharp rhythms slice and swoop through pillars of bass; glitching whistles, uncanny howls, chirruping bird sounds and fizzing synths all swirl in syncopated synergy. All killer, no filler.
The EP marks Nervous Horizons’ final release of the year, following outings from the likes Peder Mannerfelt, Toumba, Ma Sha and Piezo.
