AVA Festival and Conference confirms first names for Belfast

Floorplan, Bicep, DVS1, Kink, Rødhåd and more...

AVA Festival and Conference has confirmed its first names for this year, as the Belfast weekender looks to cement its status as Northern Irelend's most pioneering electronic music event, which is set for 1st and 2nd June 2018.

Robert Hood and daughter Lyric's Floorplan show leads the charge, with native heavyweights Bicep— whose debut LP made our Top 10 Albums of 2017 — DVS1, Kink (live), Rødhåd, Helena Hauff, Hunee, Denis Sulta, Sassy J, Hunee, Jayda G, Hammer, Midland, Mano Le Tough, Truss and Tessela (Overmono), Moxie, and Mall Grab also on the bill.

Plenty of Irish talent will be on offer, too, not least Sunil Sharpe, Timmy Stewart, Or:la, and Saoirse, while local crews Tw!tch, Jika Jika, and Inside Moves are also all involved.

Now in its fourth year, AVA (Audio Visual Arts) marries the notoriously hedonistic spirit of Belfast clubs with panels, talks, workshops and more, and this time round will see streaming institution Boiler Room deliver its first ever two-day broadcast. Tickets start at a bargainous £70, and for evidence of what that gets you take a look at the video from the last edition below, which made our list of Britain's Top 35 Festivals.
