Berghain has cancelled all "self-produced" events taking place in the club, including Panoramabar and Säule, until 20th April amid the “current health situation", supposedly surrounding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Berlin club released a statement today (11th March) via its website, which read: “On occasion of the current health situation and in the best interest of our staff, artists and guests, all previously announced self-produced club events in Berghain, Panoramabar and Säule are being discontinued until April 20, 2020”.

Yesterday, 10th March, Berlin authorities announced the closure of state-run theaters and concert halls until at least April 19th. While Berlin’s Mayor Michael Müller placed a delay on the temporary closure of smaller, privately run venues and nightclubs – stating that “not every event harbors the same risks of infection" –  Berghain has taken the decision itself to cancel all self-produced events until the end of April.

The news comes as various global festivals and events, including Tomorrowland Winter, Miami Winter Music Conference, SXSW, Miami's Ultra, announce cancellations or postponements due to the virus outbreak.
