Blawan releases new EP, ‘Dismantled into Juice’, via XL: Listen
His first on the label since 2021
Blawan has released a new EP on XL Recordings. You can listen to 'Dismantled into Juice' below.
The five-track outing features vocals from Monstera Black, around which the instrumental elements were built. The record is his first on the legendary British label since 2021's 'Woke Up Right Handed', with recent efforts all landing on his own imprint, TERNESC.
Showcasing a deeper, more abstract, almost deconstructed side of the Yorkshire-born, Berlin-based producer, 'Dismantled into Juice' is indicative of his restless approach to making music, with aliases Kilner and Bored Young Adults combining with Blawan for a notably broad back catalogue.
In 2022, the producer — real name Jamie Roberts — announced a new punk, hardcore and metal-inspired project with Pariah. The pair already collaborate on the live techno act Karenn and co-run the Voam label. Meanwhile, in September Blawan is due to perform a b2b DJ set with Skrillex at Dutch festival Draaimolen.
