California’s 4am last call extension bill has been vetoed

A bill that would have allowed several Californian cities to permit the sale of alcohol until 4 a.m. has been vetoed.
The “Let Our Communities Adjust Late Night Act” sought to extend the current "last call" by two hours in nine cities across the state. On 28th September, Governor Jerry Brown vetoed the bill.
In his veto message, Brown said, "California’s laws regulating late night drinking have been on the books since 1913. I believe we have enough mischief from midnight to two without adding two more hours of mayhem.”
Originally proposed early last year, the act had passed through senate.
In March, New York elected its first Nightlife Mayor.
Back in August, closing times for nightclubs were abolished in German city Leipzig.
