Charlotte de Witte announces new EP, ‘Overdrive’, and NYC pop-up
The EP is "all about the feeling of being on the edge and living life to the fullest"
Charlotte de Witte has announced a new EP, ‘Overdrive’, and a week-long pop-up event in NYC.
Out on 16th May via de Witte's own KNTXT label, 'Overdrive' delivers two "high-energy tracks meant to pull listeners into the fast-paced thrill that unlocks one's turbocharged version of themselves".
“While making 'Overdrive', I didn’t fully realize how applicable the lyrics are to my philosophy of life,” said de Witte. “The fast-paced tempo, which goes full force without looking back, is all about the feeling of being on the edge and living life to the fullest."
The KNTXT pop-up event will take place between the 17th and 20th of May at the Extra Butter boutique on New York's LES and debut "an exclusive capsule collaboration" of limited-edition 'Overdrive' merchandise. There will also be a week of KNTXT-related shows with the performers TBA. De Witte will also premiere the 'Overdrive' EP during her shows The Brooklyn Mirage in New York City on the 18th and 19th of May.
“'Overdrive' is a love story between hip hop and techno, it’s inspired by both genres, but coated in a techno jacket,” said de Witte. “It’s meant to be played loud while driving at night and watching the city lights pass by, and where better to experience that than in New York City?”

The new EP follows de Witte's recently released single 'High Street', which is featured on 'Overdrive', and her first EP for KNTXT since 2022's 'Apollo'. She also recently collaborated with Enrico Sangiuliano on the 'Reflection' EP. Pre-over 'Overdrive' from Bandcamp here.
The Ghent-born DJ, producer and KNTXT label boss was voted the World's No. 1 Techno DJ in DJ Mag's 100 DJs 2022.
Earlier this year, de Witte launched a new brand of soy sauce, Tears of Soy.
