Charlotte de Witte has launched a new imprint with a focus on Belgian dance music history.

Èpoque is the latest brand to join the techno DJ and producer's KNTXT stable, and will be a platform for remixes of iconic tracks from the country's storied electronic music history, particularly in the '90s and early '00s. The first release on the label will be a remix of Push's iconic 1998 trance anthem 'Universal Nation' by Charlotte de Witte herself, which will be released on 25th January. You can watch some clips of her dropping the remix below.

The label is a direct offshoot of a research project into nightlife culture and heritage in Belgium, with which it shares a name. The online archive includes an in-depth look at Cherry Moon, one of the country's longest running dance music venues which has been welcoming punters since 1991, leading to a range of apparel themed on the address. De Witte also recorded a mix in tribute to the club, which is available through Apple Music

"Époque is a Belgian label and nightlife archive by @kntxtmusic and @charlottedewitteusic," the Instagram post announcing the news read. "In collaboration with clubs and labels, past and present, we capture the spirit and lifestyle of our bygone discotheque culture. The Époque label remixes iconic tracks, brings back dance classics and uses club memories and aesthetics to translate them into unique new tracks produced by the current electronic scene."

Next month, de Witte inched the likes of Alignment, Chris Liebing, Nico Moreno and more to play an all-night event at Flanders Expo, Ghent, Belgium, with 20,000 people expected to be in attendance.
